We are pleased to announce that we can now confirm that our commercial coating has now proven effective against the human Coronavirus family. An independent UK Laboratory has now completed a 60 day longevity/efficacy test on the Coronavirus and the product has proved extremely effective. The results show that within 2 hours of the virus coming in contact with the coated surface, there is a 99% log reduction and after 60 days, this range of efficacy is maintained. Further to this, we have also completed a range of successful bacteria testing and of course we still have the results of a 90 day efficacy test against the coronavirus due to be received in November.

Our antimicrobial Coating has been proven to be effective against a wide range of bacteria and viruses through creating an inhospitable surface for these dangerous microorganisms to live upon, keeping your environment safer for everyone. The active ingredient in the coating is ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) registered and compliant.
The Technology
Our antimicrobial coating’s technology is based on the use of quaternary ammonium silicone compounds (also known as “SiQAC”) as antimicrobial agents. This is used either in solvent or in aqueous and stable solutions. Through making these compounds using a water-based system it provides many benefits. The compounds are non-flammable and do not require any solvents for dilution. No special handling is required and they are uniformly dispersible on almost any surfaces! The extended shelf-life also allows this technology to be economical. An integrated system is formed when the ammonium salts react with certain organosilanes, and once this system is applied to a surface, it forms a durable (through ion exchange and rapid polymerisation) and invisible (one molecule deep) antimicrobial protection.
